Cora Liam (30 Jun 2009): I hope that South Seattle and Seattle Central Community College will get more funding on the ESL classes and job skill trainings they offer quarterly to serve more low and even even middle income clients in this hard economy now.

Cora Liam (30 Jun 2009): Let's also invite other 'successful storytellers' such as refugees who arrived in USA without any job skills/ experiences, no homes, with ESL barrier, but who managed to overcome all these challenges and barriers through low-cost education and assistance from non-profit agencies. To me, this is more of a very aspiring, more believable real life story because of the hardships they have encountered first of all in coming here, then trying to fit in and get the right education and right agencies to assist them to be successful in their new and different life here in USA because of the real life challenges they have to overcome to reach their goal or life's dream and become successful through good education.

Danette Knudson (19 Jun 2009): I thought this session was extremely informative. I manage various access & outreach programs aimed at helping students through the 'college process'. We recognize that all access programs need to consider success. Furthermore, we want to ensure we are adequately informing students of the various options available to them (not just 4-year). Towards that end, I think it's important that various sectors engage in this important discussion. I'd be very interested. (danette.knudson@nela.net)
